Why I am is that the other's unusuable, and I had a thought I feel like shoving somewhere so I can read over it later when I'm significantly less impaired and chortle over. As such, as I predict most of these kinds of things will be, this is primarily for myself, and anyone who comes across it and reads it is doing so of their own bad luck.
This said. The thought.
When we're little, there're all these expressions parents will use. You know they're special because they use them often, and the words just seem to blend all together into a single meaning, as opposed to regular sentences.
And the funny thing is, chances are, you'll never actually appreciate the meaning of the actual words. You WILL understand what the expression means, sure.
But it won't be until a good ten, maybe fifteen or so years later when, on a chance use of that expression by yourself, you'll literally stop in your tracks and go "... Holy SHIT. So -that's- what it really means!"
Because chances are, up until that finally happens, no matter how often you hear that phrase throughout your life, you'll still have that basic meaning of the expression as a whole as your primary focus. And only when you finally draw attention to the words can you truly appreciate what the hell it actually means.
Mine was "leave well enough alone", ten minutes ago, if you're curious. And I'll spell check this later and make necessary adjustments.
Only not.
